My chicks are hatching! What should I do? Leave the chicks in the incubator  until they’re dry and fluffy, then move them to a brooder. Chicks can survive without food and water for 72 hours, but the sooner they have access to feed and water the better off they’ll be.
 
Can I start my chicks on newspaper? No, newspaper is too slippery and will cause spraddle legs.
